Howard Partners works in a number of discrete, but closely inter-related, areas:

Our capability has been built up through 15 years of working with clients using the tools and techniques of applied research, assembly of evidence, and integrated thinking. The impact of our work is reflected in the extensive adoption, application and use of our findings and recommendations.

We are keen to apply knowledge generated through research and draw on leading edge and professionally validated contemporary management practices.

Our approaches to projects is research and evidence based, and issues driven. Project management involves the following elements:

  • Establishing a base for sound project administration and work-flow management, including agreement on milestones,
  • involvement of clients and  processes for report  drafting and completion.
  • Situation analysis - to determine "what is gone on around here" through initial briefings, review of internal documentations, internal staff interviews and workshops, and external stakeholder consultation.
  • Research and investigation through review of relevant literature, associated documentation, stakeholder analysis. This  informs questions and issues to be addressed in the next stage.
  • We combine knowledge of established and contemporary business thinking with deep seated knowledge of business practice.
  • Analysis and review, leading to clear articulation of findings and preparing draft recommendations.
  • Report drafting and finalisation.

Our aim is to produce an outcome that meet or exceeds client expectations. Our processes are designed to ensure that there are "no surprises" at the conclusion of an engagement.

Howard Partners also provides assistance for organisations seeking government grant funding. Dr John Howard has led bid teams that have raised in excess of $50m in the higher education area.
