Anne Howard
In recent years, Anne has worked with clients to develop strategies that incorporate social media into their marketing and communication mix to cost-effectively meet business objectives.
Anne also delivers workshops and seminars and provides advice on how communication and engagement strategies are developed and implemented.
In 2013 Anne completed a Masters Degree in Online Communication specialising in the strategic use of social media. Anne's report, The What, How and Why of Social Media published in July 2014, has been widely accessed.
Previous career roles
Business Development Manager, CSIRO Food Futures Flagship, 2008-2011
Anne developed strong and productive working relationships with innovative businesses and worked closely with the business development team to commercialise research undertaken within the Flagship. She was appointed to the position of Business Manager for the novel barley grain, BARLEYmax™.
In 2010, Anne and the BARLEYmax™ team awarded the CSIRO Medal for Business Excellence for outstanding commercial performance.
Director, Anne Howard Communications (2002-2007)
Anne provided strategic communication advice and delivered national awareness campaigns for technology transfer companies, national professional associations and commercialisation events in the bio-sciences arena.
Executive Director, Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia (KCA) (2000-2001)
Anne was retained by the Board of KCA to build a stronger membership and increase awareness and understanding with key stakeholders about innovation, commercialisation and the role the research community could play in helping to build Australia's economic success.
Inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Venture Capital Association (1995-1999).
Anne was instrumental in developing AVCAL into a strong and viable industry organisation that played a key role in the Australian Government’s industry and innovation policy agenda.
